MyPyPSA-Ger
The MyPyPSA-Ger energy system model was developed to analyze the German energy system with respect to achieving Germany's emissions targets by 2050 using a myopic planning approach. MyPyPSA-Ger is an energy system model that
- was implemented using a "brownfield approach", incorporating the existing power plant fleet and transmission grid in Germany as of 2020; and
- offers a high spatial and temporal resolution, with up to 256 nodes and 8,760 hourly time steps per year.
MyPyPSA-Ger enables the analysis of alternative pathways for the energy system transformation and provides quantitative insights. This makes it possible to assess, for example, the impacts of
- alternative carbon price trajectories,
- increased electrification of industry,
- increased sector coupling, and
- the development of a hydrogen economy.
The model results help decision-makers work toward a climate-neutral energy system. The development of the MyPyPSA-Ger model is ongoing to incorporate all energy demand sectors, storage technologies, flexibility options, and interconnections with neighboring countries.

**This model is based on the model structure of PyPSA-Eur.
